Quad State High School Championship

Launching out of the Northeast River of the Chesapeake will be 22 teams from 4 states looking to punch their ticket to the Regional for their State. Due to the Wuhan B********, we will not be allowed to have our traditional trademark family cookout during the weigh in and awards presentation and the weigh in can not be attended by family or other fans. We will be getting as many pictures as we can to post and we will have a small awards presentation so we can give the winners a lot of great prizes. Go to the Youth Tab and then High School for photos and results

Team Regional 2 – Updated, Final Results

Team Regional 2 concluded today and Congratulations to Charlie Sykes on the angler side and Jeff Miller on the coangler side for finishing on top of the individual standings. The Team side would see Blair Bassmasters go out with a 10 pound lead and finish with a TWENTY FOUR + pound margin over second place AMBA. But the other story of the day would see Clarion County come from a last place start and edge Berks Bassmasters out of pay day by 0.12 pounds anchored by the days Big Fish; 4.24LM caught by Jeff Manross. It also stung a little for Crawford County who would miss their pay day by only 0.36 pounds. Here are the results

Team Regional 2 is off and running on Keuka Lake, NY. Six teams looking for bragging rights while 4 anglers and 4 coanglers hope to punch their ticket for the National Championship Semi Final in September.

Charles Sykes from Susquehanna Valley came out swinging and landed nearly a 16 pound bag anchored by the days Big Fish of 4.66. His weight sends him out in the morning with more than a 3 1/2 pound lead over 2nd place Crawford County angler Eric Marsh. On the coangler side things are a lot tighter and Dave Palko, AMBA, is in the hot seat by 0.32 pounds over fellow club member Jeff Miller. Dave had a 4.26 Big Fish to push him past Jeff. What will the morning bring? In the end though, for Team results it is consistency through the team members and that wins it. Blair Bassmasters owns the top spot after today a little more than 9 pounds in front of AMBA and Berks Bassmasters, a team from District 1 trying to steal the brass ring. Are they going to do both Regionals? Anyway, here are the results of day 1

District 2 – Keuka, State Park, 7/12/20

Location – Keuka Lake
Launch Site – State Park Launch
Date – Sunday, July 12th
Time – 5:30 am – 1:30 pm, (if we can launch earlier we will try)
Registration – 4:30 am – 5:15 am

**One person at a time at the trailer and remember that NY still has social spacing in effect for those in line. Face covering are recommended at weigh in, in the restrooms, and whenever social distancing cannot be maintained.

The parking fee is $7 per vehicle (either car or truck with boat) and must be paid when leaving the park.

Payout: (based on 10)
Anglers
1st place – $350
2nd place – $210
3rd place – $140
Co-Anglers
1st place – $175
2nd place – $105
3rd place – $70

Do not launch your boat until you have checked in, completed the boat check and met up with your rider.

This will be a 5 fish tournament, 12″ minimum.
No culling of dead fish. Dead fish MUST be taken with you.
Lunker Fee is $10 per day. Lunker must be a live fish.
All NY Boating and Fishing rules and regulation must be adhered to at all times.
All PA Bass tournament rules apply.

It is suggested that the cost of the gas/oil used during the day be shared between the boater and the rider.

The area right at the launch will be off limits. Any areas posted no boats or no fishing means you cannot cast into those areas either.

Keuka speed limit is 45 mph, and is enforced by radar. If ticketed, you could be disqualified.

Note about weigh-in. Please tie up to the dock if there is an open slip, pull up on the shoreline, or wait out on the water. If you want to pull your boat out, you can trailer it but fish care should be considered. The co-angler should come up to the trailer to get in the bag line. Please remember to use social distancing. Get both bags (CANNOT use your own). When you get your bag, you can get your fish and bring them back for weigh in. When you come up to the scale with your fish, turn in your boat number, give me your name, verify weight and get your yellow copy of the weigh in slip. Return fish to water near the end of the slips, not at the ramp and return bags to the end of the line where you got them.

Last boat will call out numbers and each boat will launch every 10 seconds.

The tournament committee (District Officers present) will make the decision to hold a fog delay if necessary for safety. If so, the committee will make decisions regarding take off time, extending fishing hours, etc.

SAFETY – Life jackets MUST be worn when the outboard motor is running. This includes coming in to beach the boat, taking the boat on and off the trailer. If you are on the boat, the outboard is running, life jacket MUST be on for all aboard. Failure to do so can result in disqualification in the tournament.

**Any culling system utilized must reduce fish handling stress and injury (e.g., clips and color coding). Devices that use or require punching / piercing a hole in the fish’s mouth are NOT permitted. Fish should not be lifted from a livewell by culling tubes, ropes, etc., in an attempt to reduce stress.

The park has recommended that we do not have the awards at the end of the weigh in to promote social distancing. I will do my best to have the results posted Sunday evening. The checks will go in the mail on Monday morning.
