MR BASS 2023 – FINAL

Number 2. That is what Mitch Heaton was able to do. With the day 1 leader coming up empty, his brother was able to pick up the slack and was sitting in 1st with just under a 5 pound lead waiting on Mitch. As he approached the stage, he announced he had 5 so it was just a matter of putting them on the scale for him to pick up his 2nd Mr Bass Champion at Lake Anna. Coangler leader Bill Lidwell would only bring 1 to the scales today that he didn’t need to remain the Coangler Champion. Here are the standings.

A nicer start to day 2 under a fine mist and 55 degrees with partly cloudy skies and 74 degrees forecasted. Boat 4, Larry Foor has a slight lead over Mitch Heaton of 1.75lbs. In 4th place, Chris Episcopo is in striking distance only 4.18lbs out. All 3 of these anglers are past champions and have been around big fish all week; who gets a couple of them today. On the coangler side Bill Lidwell goes out with a little less than a 4lb lead but there are a lot of big fish roaming. Another case of who gets that big bite. Weigh-in at 3pm

After a very nice few days of practice, anglers were greeted with steady rain this morning that is scheduled to continue throughout the day. There were reports of large fish on the move and hopes were high this morning in spite of the weather. At 3pm we will see what they were able to find. Check back here.
