Well here we are in the beginning of spring and I have been in office almost 6 months already. So what have I done for you lately? First of all my main promise was to end the law suit as quickly as possible so we could move on with rebuilding the Federation. That one is over and done with, hopefully never to rise its ugly head again.
We are actively seeking new sources of income for the Federation, check out Tammy’s work on the cruise next February and the Sheetz discount coupons available for the Youth clubs. We also have PA Federation T-shirts and hooded sweat shirts on sale, custom orders are also available. We are forging new relationships with new and old sponsors. Ranger, TBF, Chevy and Lowrance on the national side. Soon Berkley and Minn Kota should be on board. Our local sponsors deserve some much-needed attention, I will contacting them in April. Tackle Thong, Plano, R. J. Marine and of course Susquehanna Fishing Tackle have stuck with us through the years and earned our support and business.
Tournament scheduling will be a challenge with the spiraling cost fuel and travel. Bob Kline has out done himself with Mr. Bass, he has better than 50 boats going to the Potomac in a couple of weeks. Of course this would not be possible without our members support of the Federation. Dave C. reported we are over 600 strong and still growing. It would nice to see our numbers up over a 1,000 again.
I am defiantly looking forward to Mr. Bass, it’s been a long winter and my ranger is tired of sitting in the barn. Ranger bucks are available again this year, $2250 will be on the line for Mr. Bass, the same for the Classic. After Mr. Bass Bill Richert and I head over to Lake Wilye for the Federation National Championship as well as TBF presidents and conservation directors meetings. Introduction to national sponsors is also on the agenda. Hopefully I will have good news to share at the June meeting. Final planning for the Mid-Atlantic Tournament in Erie is also going on.
Please remember to support the Fed.
